Welcome to the Parakart Association!

The Parakart Association was formed in 1993 by a group of parakart (or kite buggying) enthusiasts. It’s reputedly the oldest kite buggy club in the world! Its original purpose was to provide kite buggying sites and third party liability insurance by affiliation to the British Federation of Land and Sand Yacht Clubs as Class 8 Land Yachts. This has given us access to the best buggying beaches in the world.

Since then, kite buggying has evolved massively as a sport and the role of the PKA has now become more defined as the regulating body for kite buggy racing in England and Wales. The PKA runs the National Series through which it selects the national team to compete at international events.

The PKA also organizes fun and sociable race events aimed at attracting either new people into kite buggy racing or those who just like to fly and socialise with like-minded people. Entry into any national race event is dependent on holding a race licence and the PKA has a network of approved Licence Assessors to provide assessment.

This website has been created to provide individuals and clubs with all the information they need to take part in, and host, successful and safe kite buggy racing in England and Wales.
